Zhambyl Officials Attribute Gambling Addiction in Men to Women's Needs

Kazakhstan
Zhambyl officials linked gambling addiction among men with the needs of women, the agency's correspondent reports.

“From a psychosomatic point of view, most habits in adulthood originate in childhood. Some men are trying to earn a lot of money because they cannot meet the needs of women,” says the official press release of the Zhambyl region health department.

Officials claim that in order to “satisfy the needs of women, a man decides to earn money in an easy way.”

The department cites the following reasons for gambling addiction:

1. Family and interpersonal problems, constant feeling of loneliness;

2. Low self-esteem;

3. The presence of gamblers in the family and environment;

4. The desire to make money quickly and easily.

Addiction, according to experts, leads to exhaustion, depression, and in some cases it can lead to suicide.

“In most cases, the patient cannot independently understand his problem and consult a doctor, so his relatives must take the issue of contacting a specialist into their own hands. In an outpatient setting, gambling addiction is very difficult to stop and there is a constant risk of relapse. Therefore, the right decision is for the patient to receive treatment in a hospital,” the health department says.
