One third of crimes against minors are violent

Chairman of the Administrative Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Kaisar Sultanbayev spoke about statistics on crimes against minors at a round table in the Senate.

— According to the results of last year, more than 2 thousand crimes were committed against minors. Of these, every third crime is against the right of minors to sexual integrity. Including rape, sexual violence, sexual relations with a person under 16 years of age, forced sex, crimes that direct children to an immoral path,” said Kaisar Sultanbayev.

The chairman of the committee notes that most crimes against minors are registered within the family.

— 65% of crimes were committed in private residential houses with restrictions on police entry. Every third crime is committed by close people who have not come to the attention of the police. These are fathers, stepfathers, cohabitants, neighbors, relatives, or acquaintances,” said Kaisar Sultanbayev.
