Thanks to amendments to the gambling law, more than 3.5 million Kazakhstanis will not be able to become clients of bookmakers or play in casinos. This was reported by Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports Miras Tulebayev at a briefing in the Central Communications Service.
These include 3.5 million debtors, 90,000 civil servants and hundreds of thousands of employees of the military and law enforcement agencies.
"Administrative liability is introduced for allowing debtors, persons under 21 and those with self-imposed restrictions to gamble," Tulebayev told journalists.
Civil servants and military personnel who violate the ban will be dismissed for negative reasons. The implementation of the ban will be monitored by the personnel departments of government agencies, the Anticorruption agency and the Agency for Civil Service Affairs. Work is currently underway on a mechanism for implementing this rule at the level of by-laws.
